“(Dubois, Wyo.) – Trish Leisner, personal representative for the estate of Sue Nigh announced a bequest of ‘more than a million’ to the Dubois Assisted Living Center, at a celebration of Sue’s life on Thursday, June 28th at the Headwaters Center in Dubois.

Dubois Assisted Living Center Board members and friends reacted in stunned gratitude at the announced gift.

Sue Nigh, 73, died March 16, 2012 at her home Dubois, leaving the bequest from her estate to the Dubois Assisted Living Center, now under construction in Dubois.

Sue grew up in Galesville, Maryland and following her high school graduation she moved to Wyoming, working as a wrangler on the Box R Ranch and for the Green River Cattlemen’s Association.

She also worked at the Trail Creek Ranch in Jackson before making her permanent home in Dubois. She was an accomplished horsewoman, as well as being a licensed pilot. Memorial Services for Sue Nigh were held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Green River Lakes.

Mayor Twila Blakeman said “This gift will help expedite the completion of the Dubois Assisted Living Center and offer the needed human services for our area citizens. When the Facility is completed, it will also provide needed jobs for Dubois, as well as much needed health care for our isolated community. Sue‘s generosity will enable the center to be completed by the summer of 2013.”
